Sediment

Sediment reuse resources and networks

What is a sediment?

Sediments are particles floating in water which, with the accumulation of matter, form sedimentary layers. They are sometimes reusable and sometimes not, depending on their toxicities.

The European Suricates project

In order to reduce the risks of flooding and erosion, the Interreg Suricates project aims to increase the reuse of sediments, which today for dredged marine sediments, are only reused up to 1%.
